Record?
High school students of Dr. Paul McElligott recently
attempted to break a Guinness World Record by putting together their own Rube
Goldberg machines. The challenge was to link the machines in a series of chain
reactions to keep a marble rolling through the various contraptions. With the
current record reaching 125 steps, the FHHS scientists had enough links to
complete 176 steps, but the plan fell short when not all the links completed
their movements on their own. Another attempt will be made next school year.
